As I finished my drink, I realized that the highlight of this trip was not the reindeer feeding, snowmobiling or anticipation of aurora borealis sightings. There was something deeply inspiring, and it came from the understated and humble Norwegian people. In just the past few days, they had reinvigorated my faith in humanity.
It was a castle in the sky. It felt that way at least, way up high, nestled at the edge of the jungle up the mountains. I hugged a cup of black tea to my chest and stared out over the Himalayas. I had come to Nepal to become an internationally certified yoga teacher and complete a 200 hours training program at Nepal Yoga Home under the direction of yoga guru Prakash Acharya.
Between work and keeping up with our somewhat far-flung family, Andrea and I are lucky enough to travel a fair amount. But this trip to Paris was immediately special for a few reasons: We had no reason to go, I’d never been, and it’s Andrea’s favorite city on Earth.
